He had a hard time waking up!

This little boy is into everything now! I'm always having to chase him around and make sure he's not getting into something. The other day I found him sitting in the closet opening and closing the door. He's funny. He doesn't mind sitting in the dark.

When we first got here we went to visit our friends Jon, Holly & Connor. Connor's turning 1 soon! Yay!

He's still crawling in, out, up, down and around everything.

He thinks it's SO funny to put his hands all over his hair!! He knew he was being naughty because everytime I'd get mad at him, he'd laugh and do it again. Haha.

I love this little boy. I'm so grateful to have him. He helps me smile when times are hard and always knows how to tug at my heart strings. Love him!

Kostons 1st b day and Halloween

October was a pretty busy month so it seemed to fly by! Koston turned 1 on the 25th so we threw a little party for him. We invited a few friends over to wish him happy b day :) It was a lot of fun! We have some awesome friends here. Here's some pics! Brian has a lot on his phone too that I have yet to get from him. I will post those later. I tried posting a couple videos of when we sang happy birthday to him... but Blogger hates me and doesn't want to cooperate. Our internet is slow too... grrr. Oh well. Enjoy!

Just a few things about the birthday boy:

- He weighs about 26 lbs and is about 32 in. tall ( I think :/ )

- He says Dada... but still won't say Mama!

- He can take a few steps on his own... but stops and crawls cause he can get to places quicker!

- He loves to clap

- He loves to crawl and sit underneath the end table and say Deeees! (I was taking a picture of him once and told him to say cheese, so every once in awhile he'll say "deeees!")

- He loves to read

- He loves to tear apart all his books and eat them.

- He eats like a vacuum!

- He loves to open and close every door, cupboard and drawer in the house.

- He loves to dance.

- When ever the washer is going, he stands, up leans his hands against the washer and sways back and forth with the rhythm of the washer. Its kind of funny :)

- He thinks it's hilarious to pat mine or Brian's belly. It's a great self esteem booster. Not!

- He loves to pull out all the plastic lids and play with them.

- He helps me sing the "clean up" song. In his own version :)

- He loves baby Einstein.

- He ALWAYS pulls his socks off and sucks on them.

- He loves his baths.

- He's a cuddler... mostly at night.

- He likes to slap or pound on everything.

- He pulls down EVERY towel that I have hung up.

- He gets scared when other babies scream. He usually ends up crying... haha. He's a softy.

It has been a great first year! He will ALWAYS be my sweet baby boy :)

So now that October is over and done with, things have kind of slowed down, which isn't a bad thing. Unfortunately, things for Brian have done about the opposite. He is still as busy as ever and has loads upon loads of reading and studying! He is amazing and I can't comprehend how he does it. I love him so much and I really appreciate that even with how busy he is, he can still find time to go tracting with the missionaries or help them out in anyway. I also appreciate how he will make time to hang out with me and watch our tv shows together :) It's a little thing... but it means a lot.

This is what the little man & I did this morning. He was in love.

Lately I've been pretty busy and have found myself occupied with other things... when really, I need to be spending more time with Koston and giving him the attention that he needs. I've realized that time passes too quickly. I need to soak up all the time and precious moments I can get with this little guy. He deserves the BEST and I want to be the mommy that he deserves. I really can't explain the happiness that fills me when I walk into his bedroom each morning. He always awaits me with a huge smile on his face... usually standing up peaking his chubby little face over the rail of his crib. This morning when I went in to get him from his nap... I pretty much cried because I just love this guy so much. Sometimes I think we take things for granted... and really don't realize how blessed we are. I know that I have so much to be thankful for and I honestly wouldn't know where to begin. I have a good life. I have the greatest family and the greatest friends. Heavenly Father has been good to me. And I often wonder why.

Anyway (as I'm like tearing up!) Today was a good day :) Koston & I went to the East side market place where they have a little play area for kids. He's not walking by himself yet, but he loves to stand up and walk around anything he can hold on to. I knew this place would be great for him! When we first got there, there were a couple of little boys that Koston was fascinated with. He wanted to play with them so bad. He followed them most of the time while the boys would run away from him. It was kind of funny. He didn't mind though :) He was just having fun watching the boys and climbing on to the toys. Here's a few pics that I got of him today.

He's turning 1 in less than 2 weeks! I think that's what has made me so blubbery :) My baby is turning into a little boy! We're throwing him a little party here and inviting our friends over to celebrate. I'm sad that none of our family can be here... but we'll survive! He'll have plenty more birthdays!

* Finally! Some people have asked me for pictures of our place. SO here it is! Our TINY apartment.

What we've been up to...

And when I say "we" I mean Koston and I... because we all know what Brians been doing. And that's literally ALL he's been doing. Yep, school! If he's not in class, he's studying. If he's not studying, he's in class. If he's not doing either then he's... going to the bathroom? Walking to class? does that count? Ok, maybe i'm over exaggerating a LITTLE bit. I drop him off at school everyday at about 7:30-8ish, pick him up at about 6 and have dinner, then he leaves at about 7-7:30ish and studies at school till about 9 or 10. He's a trooper. I know I would never be able to do it. Although we don't see him much, Koston and I are still doing good :) We like it here. Koston seems to like it here too :) We've met a lot of cool people. Each week the ward has a mommy and me where the moms get together at a park or somewhere else and bring their kids so they can just get out and let the kids play while the moms chat. Unfortunately, Koston and I haven't been yet because its right in the middle of his nap time! His naps have kind of gotten in the way with a lot of things! But... hopefully we can adjust his schedule to where we'll be able to get out more.

New adventures

Yes we're here, and yes we're alive! My procrastination is already setting in... I've been putting off blogging. I'm just not a good writer and journal-er. But I think you already knew that ;)

Hawaii was so much fun! It was the greatest, laziest week I've had in a long time. We went to the Polynesian Cultural center, Sea Life park, took a tour of Honolulu, went to the zoo, shopped, played in the ocean, ate a TON of chocolate covered macadamia nuts (seriously, we ate a whole bag just about everyday! Ha!) visited the Dole pineapple factory, macadamia nut farm and we were supposed to go see Pearl Harbor but we accidentally slept through that one :/ woops! I think the bus left at like 6 AM and we definitely didn't wake up to our alarm. Well, I think Brian heard it, then woke me up... but then we both fell back asleep. haha. Oh well, we still had tons of fun and were really sad to leave. I was excited toget back home to Koston though. I missed him so much. It was nice to know that he was in good hands. Thank you Mom for watching him! You are the greatest! I know he had lots of fun with you guys and didn't even miss us.

We've been in Moscow for about a week and a half. It's been good... I think we're gonna like it here. It's a small town... about 20,000 - 21,000 people I believe? Half of which are college kids. It's really pretty here... especially the campus. It's beautiful. It's really green and there's tons of trees! The buildings are older looking with red brick. The people seem to be really nice too :) We went to our new ward last Sunday and really liked it as well. We've met some pretty cool people. Brian actually invited them over for dinner this coming Saturday. Yikes! We're in a married student ward and most of the men are attending law school. Lots of them are starting their first year with Brian so that's good. Anyway, It's been going really well up here. We're pretty much settled in for the most part. There's just a few things we need to do.

I'll post more about Idaho next time! But get ready for picture overload! These are in the wrong order, of course, but oh well :)

At our first apartment we had no AC... and apparently Moscow had a heat wave that day because it was bloody hot! So Koston sported just his diaper :)

My mom came up with us and helped out. She was a HUGE help! I was so sad to see her leave :(

Yesterday was Brians first day of orientation for law school. What a handsome guy ;) I'm so proud of him.

The night before I left Danie, Tiffany & Amanda came over just to hang out and say goodbye. We took a bazillion pictures! It was really fun! I'll miss these girls a lot. It's always a good time when we're together :)

Koston was really feeling left out from all of the picture taking! So I snapped one with him.

Brian & I also got wear wet suits and oxygen mask/helmet things and went down 18 ft. to swim and feed some sting rays...

A few weekends ago the girls and I ventured out to Scottsdale to have a fun, relaxing weekend. We went to dinner at Marcellas, shopped a little at the mall, got some yummy gelatto... talked alot, went to to our room at the Scottsdale plaza, talked some more... went swimming and talked some more... then went back to our room and crashed. It was so fun and nice to get together with all of them. Although not everyone could come, it was still a blast. Oh, and did I metion the sleeping in was nice? :) Cause it was! I'm really going to miss all my friends when we move :( But I know we'll all keep in touch.

The next morning we went to Sprinkles and got free cupcakes thanks to Hayley for knowing the secret phrase.. "summer Love" - SCORE!

WOW- They were DELISH!

Tiffany & I went to AZ mills and took our boys with us too. It was fun... Kostons been teething lately which has made him a little cranky, so it was kinda tuff at times with him, but he was still pretty good.

That trip left me questioning, why havent I been going to this mall the whole time! It's huge with a lot of good stores, and lots of good deals!

When we got home, this is how we found the boys - poor guys were so tired.. and sweaty! AZ is SOO hot. But, you already knew that. Ugh.

In the past couple of weeks all we've been doing is getting ready to move. I've sold stuff on craigslist, had a blog sale, had a garage sell and have just given things away. Let's just say.... I'm. over. it.

We've moved a big trash barrel into the basement so we could easily get rid of our junk. Koston's been helping out :) I know this looks bad... It was Brians idea :)

I'll keep the rest of this short and sweet since I have a bazillion of other things to get to, not to mention... sleep! It's going to be a busy day tomorrow! Getting ready for HAWAII! We leave early Saturday morning. We're so excited! We really haven't thought much about it since all of our time and energy has been focused on getting ready to move. This trip has kind of crept up on us. It will sure be nice and break things up a bit. YAY!

I'm sure gonna miss this little guy though. We're attached at the hip. Fortunately, he'll be in good hands so hopefully I won't worry too much. My mom's taking him up to our cabin for a week with some of my family so I know he'll have a lot of fun and get lots of attention :)

Is it July already?

June went by way too fast! Probably because we've been having so much fun... with trips to Cali, swimming, going to the cabin...

It makes me sad that it's going so fast because now we're down to 5 weeks left until we move!

Weird.

We already know where we'll be living and have paid our first months rent. We've gone back and forth with the idea of either selling basically everything we own (so Brian can just drive our car up with some of our things) or renting a trailer and bringing all of our stuff with us. I'm not gonna lie, that would be really hard for me to do. Not that we have a lot of stuff or anything- but still. I guess I wouldn't have been a very good pioneer... how did they do it?! haha. But I think we've come down to the conclusion of renting a trailer and hauling all of our stuff there.

Koston and I will be flying up there a couple of days after Brian leaves since it will take that long to drive there. Phew! I feel bad for Brian - I just know it would be so hard with Koston. Brians a trooper though and likes to drive for some reason. Me? I hate it. I'm no good on road trips. I fall asleep at the wheel ten minutes into it!

* A day at the beach! A first for Koston. He had lots of fun until he was overtaken by a wave. Brian was sitting down with him with his back facing the water so he didn't see the huge wave that was about to swallow them up - and me... well, I don't know what I was doing. I sure wasn't paying attention to the water I guess. My bad. Haha. Koston was okay after he had a bottle and a nap. I felt so bad though because he had sand in every crack and crevice in his body.... and he has a lot of those!

Love this picture that Shellene snapped of the back of their legs. I blew this picture up and had it printed out on canvas for Brian and gave it to him as a late fathers day gift- He loved it!

* This was the first time we took him swimming. Brian, Koston and I went swimming with Drew, Tiffany and Nixon at Brimhall pool. He was pretty indifferent to the water. He didn't love it- but he didn't not like it so that was good!

* Last week we went to our Cabin in Groom Creek which is by Prescott. The weather was so nice! It was hard to come home. It was a very relaxing trip. We played games, went on walks, watched movies, read and played sudoku :)

I was not going to miss this! (ok- maybe our car is a little dramatic and over exaggerating on the temperature. But not by too much!)

This is what our day has consisted of....

Eaten a whole lot of these....

Yeah. They look gross. But, they're not! I went with my mom to Sprouts yesterday and spotted these babies! I haven't had these since I was like 6? Ok, I really don't remember how old I was, but all I know is they remind me of my childhood and how they'd always be with my stocking stuffers! It's a good memory.

Brian was disgusted when he saw the box. Ohhh Maybe because they said something like "Natural" or "Raspberry licorice."Oh well. more for me!

Brian graduated from ASU! Woohooo! I'm so proud of him. I don't know how he was able to study and get his homework done while taking care of Koston during the day, and having both of us home at night! Haha. But he never ceases to amaze me. Congrats sweetie! Koston and I are proud of you!

Koston is so chubby. It makes me laugh.

I could barely keep my eyes open because of the sun! Hence, the squinty eyes!

The next day i threw Brian a surprise grad. party.... well, it was kind of a surprise. Haha.

There was lots of candy! (Which was a bad idea because who's left to eat the rest of it!? So far Brian & I have. Not good!)

And Cupcakes! I made the cupcake toppers. I think they turned out pretty cute... but that's just me :)

The party was a success! Thanks to those who came and for Danie and Britney for helping out :)

* On Tuesday my Mom, Gary, Koston and I flew up to Colorado to watch my niece graduate! I can't believe she graduated high school! Where does the time go! I'm so happy for her though and to start this next chapter in her life at BYU- Idaho! Congrats Cheyenne :)

On the flight there, Koston discovered a new body part. It was so funny to watch! He did this the whole trip! (See below)

* Brian accepted the offer to University of Idaho in Moscow, Idaho. We'll be moving in the beginning of August! It's kind of a bitter sweet situation. I'm really excited that we finally know where we're moving and finally have some direction! I'm also excited for our little family to be on our own... but I'm nervous too because everyone and everything we know is here. I know i'll miss family and friends so much! It will just be really different. But, i guess change is good and I'm excited for the future! SO, if anyone is ever in Idaho... feel free to stop by and say hey :) haha.

* This little man is still doing wonderful. As you can tell, he's still a little fatty :) I wouldn't have it any other way! He rolls all over the place and can pretty much sit up on his own. He gets a little wobbly sometimes though so I still have to stay near to catch him. He has two bottom teeth so he's chomping and drooling on everything! He'll be 7 months in 4 days! Where did my little baby go?!

He's thinking about taking up modeling. What do you think??

5 months & ASU

None of this is in any particular order... I'm lazy so i wasn't about to try :)

As of 4/3/2010 Koston can officially roll over! It took a few tries, but now he can successfully roll onto that chubby belly of his! Now, whenever we lay him down he's instantly rolling over.

He's always so happy :)

Brian graduates from ASU in May so he asked if i'd make him a sign so he could attach his chain that he made to count down the days! He's really excited to finally graduate and take the next big step... law school! We've been busy trying to figure things out. We've even made a trip to cali. to check out a potential school out and it was really fun. We'll have to make a decision within the next couple weeks, so we'll keep you posted!

St. Patricks Day Lucky Blocks

Lucky Blocks

This project was super fun, easy, and a little time consuming... only because Koston was jealous of all the attention these blocks were getting so I'd have to stop and give him loves. I've never decorated for St. Patricks Day in the past, but after seeing all these cute ideas in the blogging world, I figured this was a great excuse to make some cute blocks :) Most of the stuff I had on hand, so it was really cheap. Just what I like!

Supplies I used:

4x4 cut up into 4 in. cubes ( The nice man in Home Depot cut them for me :))

Rust-oleum Leafy Green spray paint

Cute scrapbook paper

Modge Podge

Tim Holtz Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink

Folk Art- Buttercream acrylic paint

Chip board letters

Paint brush

Sponge brush

Glue gun

Steps:

1. Cut up wood

2. Spray blocks

3. Cut up paper

4. Distress edges with ink

5. Apply Modge Podge to blocks and then apply paper. Smooth out bubbles. After it's dry, apply Modge Podge over the entire block.

6. Paint letters & let dry. Glue letters to block.

I know this may sound crazy... but Leah gave me this sweet award! Thanks Leah!

As a Beautiful Blogger, I must share 7 facts about myself and then pass the award on to 7 other bloggers. So here it goes:

1. This is totally going to gross everyone out but I'm obsessed with sqeezing out black heads. Whether they be mine own or someone elses, I could sit there for hours just molesting someones nose or face. I know. I'm so weird. And gross.

2. I can't look at a mirror in the dark. Ever since someone told me of the stupid "bloody Mary" story I can't even be facing a mirror. If there was a mirror close by, I'd scrunch up the blankets in front of me so it would block it out of my view.

3. I'm obsessed with DIY blogs and craft blogs. I always see all of these things that I want to make or try to do... but usually never end up doing them. Or else they don't turn out right.

4. I am absolutely terrified of public speaking! I hate being the center of attention knowing that all eyes are on me. I freeze up. It scares me to death!

5. I was born at home. On purpose. People think it's so weird when I tell them that, haha.

My baby is growing up way too fast! He's such a little man! Here's some fun things about him:

- When he gets excited, he blows tons of spit bubbles and it's really noisy too. It's the funniest thing.

- Along with the spitting... he drools like a river! His clothes are always soaking. I think I just need to keep a bib on him all the time.

- He recently started standing up. With assistance obviously. I just love when he straightens out his chubby legs and all his cheesey dimples show.

- He's always grabbing his feet and tries to suck his toes.

- He loves looking in the mirror. He likes to talk to him self and smiles. He know's he's so handsome :)

- He coos and talks a lot. It's the sweetest thing.

- He weighs 18.5 lbs! My wrists are feeling it too! I think I've sprained one of them from holding him... maybe it's just from holding him too much? :)

- He started sleeping through the night last month. It's been sooo nice. He sleeps about 8 - 10 hrs a night.

- He HATES being on his belly.

- He LOVES his pacifier.

- He's got the biggest cheeks ever.

Life has been pretty crazy. I went back to work January 18th and Brian started his new job the same week. He's now working at a school called L.I.F.E. working with special needs children. Along with his new job he's still going to school full time, which keeps him really busy. I really appreciate all of his hard work and his continuous good attitude. He's been such a good daddy to Koston. I know Koston just loves him so much because he get's the biggest smile on his face when he gets home from school or when he hears him over speaker phone :) It's really sweet. It was pretty tough going back to work and leaving Koston but we were able to find a great baby sitter to watch him and one that we felt really comfortable with.

It seemed like everything just fell into place right when it was needed. It's amazing how much Heavenly Father has helped us out and listened to our prayers. We are so blessed!

Brian had his 24th birthday on the 14th.

So I made this banner for Brian and I originally wanted to hang it up... when I tried, the banner would never stay upright... the letters would just droop down and it looked stupid. So i found a nice spot for it on the table :)

The Sunday before his birthday we went to the Garners home and also had a little celebration for him. Of course... we had his favorite, confetti cake with rainbow dot/chip (?) frosting! Mmmmm...

Our first Christmas as a family!!

I loved having Koston there to share it with.

It was absolutely perfect.

Daddy gave Koston a 100.00 bill! Lol. We really needed to get a lot of stuff for him... aka Diapers, some more clothes. etc... It's the thought that counts :)

* We finished off the year in Taylor and spent some time with my Dad & Ava. It was really nice to just go and relax and do nothing. We slept in, Ava made us some amazing cheesecake, saw Sherlock Holmes (such a good movie!), ate at "Bitz", drove by the temple, visited my sister Summer and her kids, ate some more pizza at Pizza Hut, went to WalMart in showlow, watched Night at the Museum 2, played rummy ( i won by the way :)) drank root beer floats, ate some candy... and felt really fat. Perfect way to start our "Biggest Loser" Competition :)

* On New Years Eve we went to Mike & Shellenes to play games and eat some yummy snacks. Here's a little taste of what went down. Shellene G. is a pro. at charades! Gotta love her!

2. Christmas decorating!

It's true. I'm a sucker for Christmas decorations. If i had all the money in the world, I'd put the north poll to shame.

Today was Koston's 2 week check up. He's now 22 3/4 tall and weighs 10 lbs! He's grown about 1 1/2 inches and has gained 2 lbs since his last weigh in. Oh, you know he made Mom and Dad proud! We were all smiles after that :) He's still been such a good baby. He loves his naps, loves to eat, and LOVES his baths. It's so cute! He doesn't make a peep when i bathe him. I love this little boy so much! He has brought soooo much joy into our little home. :)

Haha. This cracked me up. Koston loves this sling. He can sleep any time, anywhere and in any position... if you couldn't tell.

I haven't posted any pictures of his room yet, so I thought I'd just share a few of them... and of course I'll add some more pics of him! I just can't get enough pictures :)

I made the wall plaques and the letters. It was pretty simple, but fun.

And for one of my favorite parts... the bedding. My mom did such a great job! I love how it turned out. Thanks Mom!

We got this changing table from craigslist for super cheap! We tried to keep costs low so I figured this could just be a fun project. We sanded it, added some beadboard wall paper to the shelves and sides and then painted it white... we were pretty satisfied with it. Just don't look too close, there's quite a few imperfections! Thanks Brian for all the help! (He did most of it actually... the belly was kind of restricting!)

Yes he's here and life couldn't be more blissful. I love this little guy so much... I can't imagine life without him now! I am SO blessed to be his mommy... he is just an angel. He really has been such a good baby. He sleeps a ton, eat's a lot and loves to be snuggled with :) I love being a mom. Here's a few pictures for your enjoyment. I could just stare at him all day!

Yep, tomorrow's the day we've been waiting for... Well, kind of. I'm going in to be induced at 3:00 PM. My doctor felt like we should do it now rather than wait any longer because she thinks he's going to be a pretty big boy! :) I'd rather him come on his own... but then again, I don't want to push out a 10, 11 lb. baby... So i'm fine with it. I get to see him sooner too which i'm reallllly excited for! My nerves are starting to set in though. I haven't been too bad, but now that there's a day and a time set, I know that it's going to happen and it's almost here! It's just so crazy how fast it's gone.

I'm so excited and grateful to be a mom. I can't wait for all of the fun experiences and sweet little moments I'll have with him... I know it will be the greatest feeling and most rewarding experience I could ever imagine.

This is what I've felt like the past week and a half...

9 months pregnant + major head & chest congestion = the worst combination ever.

And there's really not much you can take when you're pregnant. Please help! Haha. I want to be normal again and not feel like my head is trapped in a bubble anymore. It really throws things off when all you can hear is yourself... and nothing else!

Oh my poor husband... I love you Brian! Thank you for being the best, most supportive hubby ever... and still loving me even when I complain or cough all over you :)

I know this is a pointless post. I'm just so over this sick stuff and I want my baby here! :)

... It's a little OBVIOUS that I've been slacking on keeping up with the updates... I do better at looking at other blogs rather than keeping up with mine :) Where do i start...

My awesome friends threw me a baby shower! Thanks Danie, Tiffany, Amanda, Katie, Shellene, Britney, Michelle and Mom for all helping out! It turned out great and i got TONS of fun stuff! Seriously, I was looking through everything and realized if I hadn't of had a shower, I would have nothing. So thanks to you who came and spoiled Koston :) I really appreciate your thoughtfulness. He's one lucky boy! I would post pictures of it but for some reason blogger isn't allowing me and it's driving me crazy. I Guess I'll save them for another time.

I had an ultra sound on Wednesday at my Doctors request to kind of see how big he is because i've been measuring pretty big these last few weeks at my check ups. Well it was confirmed. He's a big boy already! The tech said he was about 8.8 lbs. give or take a 1/2 a lb. Lets not forget I still had a week and a half at that point! I was supposed to have an appointment with my Dr. the next day because she had been wanting to possibly induce me early... well my appointment was cancelled because she was out sick. I won't see her till my next appointment which is next Thursday ( 3 days before I'm due) so I'm sure he'll be a pretty good size by then! haha. Last week she said I was about 1 cm. dialated and 50% effaced, so he's making some progress! Brian and I are kind of over it ... We're tired of waiting. We can't wait for him to be here so we can squeeze his chubby little cheeks and bum :)

For some reason it won't let me post any of the pictures other than this one, so you'll have to settle with this. Here he is! ( he looks like Brian to a T. I think he has his lips and nose)

( Yes, i know it says Liesl Hall... My insurance hasn't been changed to Garner yet. I know, i'm a bad wife. Brian gives me heck all the time about it... which I guess is understandable :/)

I put this picture up of him as my screen saver and i can't stop looking at it :) He is such a cutie! I guess it will just have to hold me over until he decides to make his debut. Ok... I desperately need sleep so i'll end for now, but i promise I'll do better with my next update. Haha. Night!

Also... I've figured out what I'm doing for Koston's bedding!!! (I think this is the first time i've announced his name on the blog :)) It will be slightly different though. Instead of the blue with brown polka dots, I found a really cute sage/olive green fabric with brown polka dots. The rest is exactly the same :) Well, besides the crib, we have yet to figure that out! I'm attempting to make the bedding my self, so cross your fingers for me that it'll turn out! My wonderful mother is going to help me of course. There's NO WAY I could do it myself, haha. Here's what it will look like!... Kind of....

What we've been up to Part 2

For Gary's B- day my mom booked about 7 rooms at a resort in Las Vegas and invited Gary's kids and my siblings to stay at for a week. The resort was really nice, equipped with about 3 or 4 pools, including a lazy river, and much more.

The resort was literally just a few minutes away from the strip so whoever wanted to venture that way had easy access. Brian and i had our own room which was super nice, although we did have a couple problems, aka a leak from the ceiling, But i guess the employees there were in no rush to fix it because they never showed up the entire weekend we were there!

One of Brian's fav. mission companions had been at lake Powell the previous week and wanted to meet up with Brian before he left on a study abroad trip to Spain, so he drove down to Vegas and stayed with us a couple nights. Al, yes that's his name :), was an instant hit with the fam. We all enjoyed his company and were really glad he got to come visit... especially Brian. I mean, we are naming our son after him.... so he ought to be pretty cool :)

We all hopped in a shuttle and went down to the strip. Brian heard of this "Miracle mile mall" so we wanted to go check it out.

What we've been up to...

It's been awhile since i've posted, so i though i'd let you in on what we've been up to...

Brian was flipping through the newspaper one day and found out that the ninja turtles were coming to the arizona science center to celebrate their 25th year anniversary. We've been wanting to go there one of these weekends just to check it out because it's a pretty interesting place... and it would be something fun to do, movies get kind of old after awhile :) Plus, the ninja turtles were a bonus. Brian was psyched :) When we got there, we found out that it would have costed about $25.00 each so that kind of swayed our desire to go inside. Instead, we waited outside in 100 degree weather and anticipated Michelangelo's arrival. Haha. They even had the ninja turtle bus, along with free pizza and a couple other fun things outside.

Next on the list... 4th of July!

So even though our 4th of July weekend had nothing to do with the celebration of America's independence, it was still really fun. My family reunion was that weekend, so we headed on up to our family lodge in Haigler, close to Christopher Creek. We had a fun time seeing relatives and my family, especially my brothers and sisters and their families that live far away. We rode the zip line, played games, ate and did some other fun things. Brian was the favorite of all the little boys by far... until he was beating them all in the game "Risk," then they all just ganged up on him. Anyway, that's just a little bit of what we've been up to!

* Quick baby update :) I had an appointment last Thursday and every thing's looking good :) I have 15 weeks left which seems kind of crazy... at least to me! I know I still got quite awhile... but it's gone pretty fast! We really haven't done anything to get ready for him yet. I know we'll need to get on it soon though! I'm so excited for him to come and can't wait to be a mom. I know it'll be one of the most rewarding experiences i'll ever have in my life. We're both so blessed to be able to be parents! He's kicking all the time now and i love it! It is the most awesome feeling ever. At first, it honestly kind of creeped me out... but now, if I don't feel him after awhile, i start to miss it and get all worried. This kid won't stand a chance... I'll never be able to leave him alone. Especially his chubby cheeks... which i'm 100% positive that he will have! haha.

Oregon trip

Last weekend we headed on up to beautiful Oregon for the last Garner wedding. Geoff & Katie were married in the Portland temple on Saturday morning. We're really happy for Geoff and Katie and wish them the best! We're happy to have Katie in the fam :)

First off... I didn't realize how beautiful Portland is. Yeah, i've heard that it's really green and it rains a lot... so it's got to be a pretty nice place. But when we got there, i was in awe of all of the Huge trees and the lush green that you just can't get enough of. It's absolutely breath taking. I kind of felt like i was in a forest the whole time. When we got there on Friday, we had some time to waste so Brian and i got to visit my sister Dawn because she only lived about 5 minutes from our hotel. That was really nice because i haven't seen her since our wedding! When you walk out to her back yard, there's a plethora of giant trees surrounding you, it was amazing, i loved it. I wish i took a picture. I suck with cameras :(

In short... i want to live in a forest someday.

The trip as a whole was really fun. I, without a doubt, love Brian's family. It's indeed always a good time with them and i don't think any one could make me laugh more than they can/did. Thanks Shellene and Mike for the fun time! There were definitely a lot of fun memories made!

We hit up some Olive Garden right after we got there. It was a little disappointing though, the service was indeed slooooow. But, I still can't hate. I can't get enough of the O.G. mmmm!

Boy or a girl?

I had another appointment Tuesday and everything was looking good. We got to hear the heart beat which was so awesome. It actually took her awhile to find it because the baby kept moving around so much :) My doctor said we already have a trouble maker on our hands because the baby wouldn't stay in one spot! Brian and I got a kick out of it... we didn't realize they moved around that much! Well anyway, we set a date for my next ultra sound to find out the sex. I'll be going in on the 28th which is exactly 2 weeks from today! I'm SO excited, i can't wait!!! The vote is about 50/50 on peoples prediction of what it's going to be. I've been feeling rather boyish lately... but who knows! Haha, cause i sure don't!

I stayed home from work today cause I've been sick... So i had to do something productive! Anything that would make me feel less guilty for missing work... but it still doesn't. Haha. Who am i kidding? I take advantage of days like these, I'm loving it! Besides the not feeling very alive part!

Well, I honestly don't have much to post about... I guess we don't lead very exciting lives! Here's just a quick run down of what we've been up to....

* Brian has started preparing for taking the LSATs for law school which are in June, so he's been putting a lot of time into that. He recently signed up for a 5 week prep course to help him get ready to take the test. So far he's only been to 2 classes and He's finding that it's a little harder than what he expected. He actually said it's pretty " humbling" because he said he's realized he's not as smart as he thought he was :) haha. We're both really glad for this opportunity cause he's already learned a lot a lot and we know he will really benefit from taking this class. He's such a hard worker and I really admire it.

This is part of his studying method. It's so bad... i know.

* I'm about 15 weeks along now and still feeling pretty good :) Brian says I'm a baby makin' machine cause the pregnancy so far has been pretty simple. We won't find out the gender for probably another month or so. We are anxiously waiting! I wish i could find out sooner, but oh well. I'm over it :) We'll find out soon enough!

* And here is when i come to a blank.

There's not much left to say other than we're both staying busy and lovin' life at the same time :) I think i better stop writing now cause I'm really just boring my self, so i can only imagine how bored someone else reading this would be! Take care!

Anniversary/ Ultra sound

Brian and I celebrated our 1 year anniversary at the happiest place on earth...

Disney Land!

We drove up to San Diego Friday morning and shopped at the outlets in Carlsbad on the way... not much luck for me there... although Brian found some much needed sandals, so he was all smiles the rest of the trip :) We woke up really early Saturday morning and drove to Anaheim. It was a pretty long drive, but totally worth it. We had tons of fun... I think our hunt for the "hidden Mickey's" consumed most of our time there though. Come to think of it, we really only rode on like 6 rides max. Doesn't sound like much, but somehow it took up a lot of time!

For those of you who haven't heard of the Hidden Mickeys, there are hundreds, probably more like thousands, of hidden Mickey Mouse heads throughout the park. The Walt Disney "Imagineers"/ engineers concealed these designs in the attractions (rides, resort, etc.) They are in the forms of the normal head and ears silhouette, but there are also many other forms of the Mickeys. They actually have a book at one of the stores there that reveal some of the spots where they're hidden, but Brian and i decided to make a game out of it instead! It's much more fun that way... well, the losing part kind of takes a fraction of the fun away... but it's still entertaining none the less! I think it was about 5 to 1 :) (Okay... at least one of Brians shouldn't have been counted i know for a fact! but i finally gave up and let him have it) Anyway, it was tons of fun!

Am i dumb for posting a hidden Mickey? It's just so you get the idea!

We already started making plans for our next Disney land trip. This is what we'll be doing differently...

1. Go when we have kids

2. Stay at the Disney Land resort

3. Not go when it's Spring Break when everyone and their dog is there

4. Visit both parks

5. Go during a week day when it's less crowded (hopefully!)

All in all it was a fun trip and a great way to celebrate our anniversary! I can't believe it's been a year already! It's definitely been the best year of my life and i wouldn't trade it for anything :)

On to a little more recent update! March 17th was my first visit with my doctor... and this is what came of it...

There is a baby inside of me!

My due date is October 25th. I am so excited! I just wish it would go a little bit faster... I've decided that it's not a good idea to count down the days... at least this early on. It only goes slower! I've really felt pretty good. I haven't gotten sick which I am soooo thankful for. It seems like everyone i talk to had the worst morning sickness ever, so I'm pretty happy that i've been feeling good. The only thing that i've really had to deal with is the tiredness and having to eat every 2 hours! Really... I don't think i've ever taken more naps in my life than i have these past couple months! I feel like a slug. Other than that I'm doing great and Brian and I both couldn't be any happier!

My posts are mostly monthly updates, so i'm on a roll :)

I just wanted to say happy birthday to all the February B-days! Namely Scott, Michelle and Tiffany (those were the most recent!) HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Happy B-day Tiff! I love you girl :) (Oddly enough, i can't really find a pic. of just you and I except this one. So this will have to do.) Thanks girl for being such a good friend and for being the greatest hair stylist i know ;)

* What's next... oh! Just wanted to say thanks to Brian for being so Amazing! For my birthday he surprised me with these beautiful white roses...

along with a few other great gifts! He always loves doing surprises for me & he'll get SO excited about it, but will NEVER tell me what he's got up his sleeve. I love that about him. I just know that he truly loves and cares about me and he'll do whatever he can just to see me smile :) Thanks for being such a wonderful husband and best friend. I love you!

HAHA. I'm always complaining about how COLD it is at work and how it's impossible to cover my arms with a normal blanket when I'm working. My problems are solved! Thanks for thinking of me babe ;) I don't even care if i look like a monk.

* Also... we had girls night last weekend and went out to eat at Charlestons. It was mighty delicious, but I can't say the same about the service. Although we had to wait for so long, we got to talk and catch up on life so it wasn't bad. It's always so fun when we get together. I love all of these girls! I hope you don't mind Tiffany, i stole this pic. from your post :)

* And now for the last update.... Some know... some don't. I haven't gone totally public with it yet, but the word is out so i might as well. I am indeed PREGNANT! At least 3 pregnancy tests and not starting "you know what" tells me so :) Brian and I both are Very excited and can't wait to take this next big step in life! Unfortunately, i can't get in to see my Dr. till March 17th so i don't really know my exact due date. It looks like it'll be around the end of October though. So yeah! Lots of good news! Morning sickness hasn't totally kicked in yet... a little bit nauseas here and there, but nothing bad. Brian thinks it's going to be a boy, i say a girl. He said he had a revelation while mowing the lawn that it will be a boy. Haha! I guess we'll just have to wait and see!

So, I'm a little frustrated. I HAVE been running, HONEST! My nike thing must be broken cause every time i plug it in... it won't load anything. Grrr... I swear, I'm not THAT much of a slacker?! :)

On a lighter note... i have a funny story to tell. A few months ago we bought a new toilet seat because "someone" broke the other one. Well, a few months ago that same "someone" must have really had to go pretty bad, because he went and did it again! ... AND i actually heard it crack this time! I was in a completely different room mind you. HAHAHA! Believe it or not... he was pretty embarrassed about it, but I couldn't help but laugh at him. It was just way too funny. He immediately called him self fat and felt really bad... but, it soon turned into him just having a left butt cheek made out of steel. I think that made him feel better about himself ;) We still haven't replaced the seat yet, but are in definite need of a new one because every time he goes in there i always hear him let out a scream cause it's pinched him! Haha, oh wow. FYI, he said i could post this... I had to do it!

Please don't mind the ugly blog for now, it's under going some maintenance...
and my internet is slow so i've given up on trying to make it "look good." Anyways...

1. I just have to say this.... it sucks getting back into shape. Since we've gotten married i've kind of "let my self go." It's like the freshmen 15 all over again... but worse! It's only been 10 months and i've let myself go entirely! :) Soooo, for christmas Brian got me the Nike sport band watch that comes with a sensor that goes underneath the sole of my shoe. Everytime i run it will track my pace, distance, calories burned, the time and then it will save all of that in the watch, along w/ any other runs. Well in the watch there's a part you can take off and plug into the usb port and it will save and record everything. It's awesome! Along w/ all of that, you can create your own "mini." It's way fun cause the "Mini" will do according to what you've done. When i first started, my mini was super lazy and i'd catch it playing ping pong or video games. Anyways, that's been my motivation, watching it change.... and it helps! Brian got one too so we've been doing it together. His is actually a little bit different, he has the sport watch which controls his ipod and tracks his info in his ipod as well, so afterwards all he has to do is plug his ipod in to his computer and it will load everything. On the right side of our blog it shows our mini's and our "stats." "Mini B" is mini Brian, and boy that's the truth! Cause it totally looks like him :) Sleepy eyes and all! So anyway, i just gave a way too long run down on my quest to losing weight. It has helped so far. Just gotta keep it up!

2. Also, I just wanted to say CONGRATS to Brian! He made the Deans list at the W.P. Carey school of bussiness at ASU! Good job hun... i'm glad someone's got the brains in this fam.

Yup! It's my sweeties B-Day! Brian turned 23 on the 14th. His birthday was on a Sunday so we celebrated it on Friday and went to eat at Texas Roadhouse and then came home and had cake, ice cream and opened presents! Then on Sunday we went to his parents house and had another little b-day party for him!

I love Brian so much! I've never loved & admired someone so much as i do Brian. I know he is my better half :) He is everything that i strive to be and has all the qualities that i've ever wanted! He tries so hard in everything he does and always achieves what he sets forth to do. I'm so grateful to have someone like him in my life. He is just an overall amazing & GOOD person. He amazes me everyday. He makes me & my family laugh constantly which is so important to me. I know i will never get bored with him. He is SOO sweet! There's never a minute where he's not telling me he loves me or that I'm beautiful... and not only does he just say it, but he shows it. He works so hard in school and does great in his job. He really is just perfect! Heavenly Father definitely spoiled me by allowing Brian into my life. He's such a blessing and a JOY to me. I love you Brian! Thank you for being my husband and the best one too! HAPPY BIRTHDAY :)

Yay for Danie and Blair! Danie and Blair were married Nov. 25th in the Mesa temple and boy am i so happy for them!!! These 2 make the cutest couple ever, i know they will be so happy together :)

So, i was obsessed with her dress and had to take pictures of it. Her AMAZING mom made it too! I swear, she is one talented lady and the sweetest one too. Gotta love the Eaton bunch!

And this is him! His boy, Elder Graff, wow i can't think of his first name right now, made a special stop in Mesa while on his way home to Texas. Brian trained Elder Graff on his mission so that's why he calls him his "boy" or "son." Elder Graff was quite possibly one of Brian's most favorite companions. So you can only imagine how excited and overjoyed he was to finally see him again. Brian was actually the one who wanted me to post about this. Anyway, it was really nice to finally meet this person who Brian always talks about! We only got to visit with him for a short time cause they had to head back out on the road, but the short stop was definitely worth it. Anyone who makes brian happier than the Office, is worth the love! I've actually met a ton of his old companions/ friends from his mission. Brian and i counted about 10 or 11 that i've met, so i feel very privileged. Any who, it was a great weekend!

P.S. Notice the beard. 4 days until he shaves it!!! :)

I made some delicious PUMPKIN ROLLS! They were pretty simple to make and tasted heavenly! Even Brian liked them and he doesn't really like pumpkin. So that says a lot :) Anyway, just thought i'd share my proud accomplishment. haha.

Don't you worry, i got a little crazy with the picture taking! I had to throw a little Thanksgiving in there, Or did i throw some pumpkin rolls in there? haha oh well.

Ok, here's a normal picture of them. Some of them were slightly squares w/ rounded edges? My mistake. I spread out the dough too thin on the edges which made the edges bake a lot faster than the rest. So it didn't roll up quite well in some spots! I'm getting there!

Halloween was so much fun this year and i have plenty of pictures and videos to prove it! Brian and I spent Halloween at his parents house with the rest of his family. We had dinner, passed out candy to the trick r treaters and just hung out and had a great time! It was fun seeing all of the kids dressed up in their costumes. When ever they'd come up to us for candy, Brian would tell them they had to tell us what their costume was before they could get candy. There were some pretty clever costumes too.... I think my favorite was the girl who was dressed up as a "sassy vampire." Haha i had to give a shout out to her, that one was just too cute. So what would you say the age limit to trick r treating would be? Because we definitely were questioning a few... I guess 40ish isn't too old to some! haha oh well!

I'm proud to say that we had some of the best costumes around. Everything from Pedro, down to the Geoff heads! It was hillarious actually. For those of you who don't know Geoff, he's Brian's brother... and he's somewhat of a legend at the Garners house. He's probably the most talked about person i've ever heard of! No joke! But for those of you who do know him, i'm sure you will appreciate these pictures/ videos ;) Hope everyone had a Happy Halloween! We sure did!

Ok so the other night we got caught up in watching funny you tube videos. I'm sure we had plenty of other better things we could have been doing but we were just having too much fun. We decided to play a you tube "game"... kind of, not really. We mostly just wanted to have a computer to ourselves so we decided that he would use his lap top and i would use my computer in the other room. Basically, we had a contest of who could find the funnier video and then instant message each other the link to the video. Haha, Oh i know. We're awesome. Well anyways, i couldn't help but not to catch this on video..... You'll see. It was cracking me up! FYI, he has his headphones on so all outside noise was pretty much blocked out...

I was so proud of myself that i had to post! I made pizza tonight and it actually turned out descent! I've really been in a cooking mood lately. Every day i find myself thinking of what I'm going to make for dinner or what kind of sweets I wanna whip up! :) Brian doesn't complain though cause he likes it when there's actually something else to eat besides CEREAL! He's hoping this cooking fetish won't get old soon :).... Here's some pics! Haha. I made 2 pizzas actually but this is the better looking of the two!

Gotta give a shout out to Brian. He supplied the juice. No one can stir up juice better than you can.

Camping Trip!

Last Sunday was our 6 month anniversary so we wanted to do something fun in celebration of it! We decided to go Camping because we haven't gone camping together since we've been married, plus it sounded fun, and cool weather sounded great! His Dad told us of a really nice place to go to, so we went up there to check it out but ended up pitching tent at a different place than where he told us. If we would have left earlier than I'm sure we would have found it. We just left too late so it was really dark when we got there and we were tired of looking for it. So we "settled." But, it was good enough for us. I definitely learned a few things on this trip, let me share :)...

1. Never camp by the "wolf scouts" They'll keep you up with their primary songs/ truth or lie games/ and non- stop howling. Seriously, the next morning... all we heard were kids howling at the top of their lungs.

2. Don't forget the food! Well... at least the key ingredients to your food. Haha.

3. Don't drop your father in-laws glove in the fire :/ Sorry Mike Jones! We (I) owe you big time!

AND

4. Plan to stay a little longer than 14 hours! :) It was a quick trip! It would have been nicer to stay at least a day or two.

Don't get me wrong, It was fun! We cooked smores, made T.V. dinners/tinfoil dinners/ hobo dinners, whatever you want to call them, and brought Brian's portable DVD player to watch a movie. I fell asleep about a minute into the movie :) But, it was ok because apparently the dvd player died 15 minutes later. Just a few more camping trips and i'll be a pro!

So I am officially the worst blogger ever. I Can't keep up with it and i am reminded of it everyday by Brian! haha. So i have to post something or I'll never hear the end of it. I guess i just don't have the patience to sit down and think of stuff to write... or maybe it's because I'm on a computer all day and it's the last thing i want to do when i get home! Oh well, I'm here now! So i have to do it! I'm always looking at other peoples blogs so I figured it would be less creepy of me looking at their blogs if i were to post something too. :) I don't even know where to start so i'll just post some wedding pics... kind of old... but is 5 months really that old? I must say though, it's gone pretty fast, but it's been fun! I'll post more later... maybe something that's happened more recently :)

So I think we actually had this blog for about a month or so and I'm now just getting around to doing something with it. I'd attempt to write something... maybe post a picture or two, and then i'd give up or get distracted. Haha. I figured right now would be a great time cause it's Sunday and... this is totally a Sunday worthy activity right? blogging! Sunday should be the official blog day. Yeah? Ok, anyway. Now you can see why i get distracted...

Well i figured I'd post some pictures of Brian and i before we got hitched :) Maybe give a little run down of pre- married life. Brian and i were friends in highschool and hung around in the same group. We dated a little off and on, but nothing too serious. Well, he left on his mission for two years and served an awesome mission. You can always tell a good missionary by the person they are when they come home. Brian's an example of just that. He's an amazing person that I honestly look up to so much. Anyway, he doesn't know im writing this, I wouldn't be suprised if he made me take it off when he see's it! haha. Oh well! Well he got home in August and about 2 days later we ran into eachother. Long story short, We pretty much were together everyday and became best friends. A week after we had made it "official", dating exclusively if you will, we were "unofficially" engaged. We were then married 5 months later! Fast movers?... typical for mesa i guess :)
